Hospice care is a comprehensive set of services coordinated by an interdisciplinary group to provide for the physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and emotional needs of a terminally ill patient and/or their family. It does not focus on curative treatment; it seeks to keep the individual comfortable and make their remaining time meaningful, with a focus on pain relief. It may include nursing care, emotional support, and help with everyday tasks. Hospice is paid for by Medicare.
