Non-medical Home Care
Also known as private pay, private duty, or in-home care, this is supportive care provided in the home. Caregivers provide daily or several-times-a-week assistance to ensure the activities of daily living (ADLs) are met. Services can also include light housekeeping, meal preparation, medication reminders, errands, bathing/showering, and hands-on personal care. These services are available from 1 hour to 24-hour, round-the-clock help.
Home Health Care
Home health can include a wide range of services: medical services from licensed nurses, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and physical therapy, as well as medical social work, help with daily tasks, patient and caregiver education, medication management, injections and IV therapy, fall prevention, and wound care. Eligibility requirements include being considered "homebound" and needing intermittent (not continuous) skilled care under a doctor's supervision and order. Medicare, Medicaid, the Veterans Administration, and some private insurance plans may cover the cost.
Hospice Care
Hospice care is a comprehensive set of services coordinated by an interdisciplinary group to provide for the physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and emotional needs of a terminally ill patient and/or their family. It does not focus on curative treatment; it seeks to keep the individual comfortable and make their remaining time meaningful, with a focus on pain relief. It may include nursing care, emotional support, and help with everyday tasks. Hospice is paid for by Medicare.

A wound is a disruption to the integrity of the skin that leaves the body vulnerable to pain and infection. It is usually caused by vascular disease, unrelieved pressure, or diabetes mellitus. Wound care management companies provide expert and specialized assistance in wound care.

Hearing Help
Medical professionals who provide seniors with comprehensive hearing tests, hearing screening, assisted listening devices (hearing aids), and ear molds/plugs. They do not perform surgery or prescribe medications.
